ST. CLOUD — Crimes against both people and property increased in Minnesota last year, but most of the St. Cloud area bucked the trend.
According to a report from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, part one crimes, or "serious crimes" including murder, robbery, theft and aggravated assault, increased 4.7% statewide in 2019 compared to the previous year.
Property crimes such as theft, arson and burglary, increased by 5.2% statewide.
